Grasshopper by the wild wall

Also known as grasshoppers, they were once the pets of emperors and are beloved by modern Beijing residents. In winter, when you’re sitting on a bus, you’ll occasionally hear the sound of grasshoppers. In summer, they can be found in the alleyways and courtyards. Grasshopper cages are everywhere. Due to their unique chirping, grasshoppers are highly cherished in Chinese culture. In Feng Shui, they symbolize prosperity and flourishing. Their loud chirping signifies national peace, people’s safety, and family prosperity.
