The Wall Built with Both Brick


The Wall built with both bricks and stones meant:to build the wall with grey bricks and stones at the same time.Usually rectangular stone slabs were used as foundation stones.When the wall built up to a certain height,grey bricks would be laid.The wall built in this way had all the characteristics of the grey brick wall and the masonry wall.The smaller size and lighter weight of the grey bricks had facilitated the construction and improved the work efficiency ,while the rock structure was resilience of the external force due to its solidness and strong loading capacity.Therefore,the wall built with both bricks and stones could be seen at a number of pass gates and some important sections of the Great Wall.
